The Ministry of State for Happiness and Wellbeing became a unique initiative of the UAE — the first country in the world to appoint a Minister of Happiness at the state level. It was established by decree of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and integrated into the country's strategic management system.
